This morning I woke up at 5:30am Haiti time. So early. It’s like 2:30 at home. Emily is still sound asleep as she just arrived yesterday and passed out cold mid conversation last night. Like I said yesterday travel is hard even on the best of trips especially from Oregon to Haiti. It’s a long trip.
I woke this morning to the sound of someone sweeping the driveway. The people at MamaBaby Haiti work so hard to keep this place looking nice. They take such pride in it. They clean, sweep, mop, cook, wash clothes. Things are happening all day everyday.
I didn’t only wake to the sound of sweeping, the roosters are up doing their job announcing the day, birds are chirping and a gaggle of guinea hens also made their presence. I love waking up early in Haiti. It’s special.
Today is Sunday. The singing should start soon. My favorite day in Haiti. All the little girls will be dressed in the very best dresses. They always look like sweet little cupcakes.
Oh and it rained last night. I’m so glad I got my clothes off the line.
